The Arrow of Time

Temporal Paradoxes

One of the most famous paradoxes is the grandfather paradox, where a time traveler goes back in time and prevents their grandfather from meeting their grandmother, thus preventing their own birth. This leads to a paradoxical situation – if the time traveler was never born, how could they go back in time to prevent their birth?
Types of Temporal Paradoxes:

- Bootstrap Paradox: where an object or information is sent back in time in an infinite loop with no origin.
- Predestination Paradox: where a time traveler's actions inadvertently lead to the events they were trying to prevent.
Resolving Temporal Paradoxes

This allows for consistency in cause and effect without altering the original timeline. Additionally, the concept of a fixed timeline, where events are predetermined and time travel cannot change the past, offers another perspective on resolving paradoxes.
